Flicker Photometer visuals

Client:  Animation video and high resolution rendering for NIST museum installation.

Role:  Art Direction and design.  Collaborators: Haoyan of America with design.  Robert Merrill with After Effects processing and 3D rendering.

About: The animation and visuals depict how early light science research was done with the NIST Flicker Photometer in 1920′s.  The purpose of the instrument was to determine the sensitivity of the human eye to the different colors of visible light.  NIST wanted to display the original instrument in a public exhibit for which I designed visuals and animation to educate visitors about the Flicker Photometer’s processes.
